Missing Modules on Registration Portal
Good day
For Missing Modules on Registration Portal
You can follow the below steps to resolve this issue.
What can YOU check if Modules are reported as missing?
Step 1 – Check Intake:
•For a new student – it is very unlikely that there would be modules missing – therefore check the intake of the student first. (i.e. 2023 Intake = New Student). If a new student, no need to check results (step 2) – you can go directly to checking the Qualification Report (MOR) in step 3 below.
Step 2 – Check Results:
•If a returning student, the first and easiest check is whether the student passed the module or not.
•If the student passed the module – it will not appear on the portal for students – some may interpret this as
missing but this is correct.
•See below an example – the campus reported that MAKT5112 is missing.
•First Check – student is a returning student - 2022 FT intake therefore the student will have results. Check
the students results via the grade roster or result summary report. If the student passed the module – the module will not appear in the portal for registration. As you can see below the student passed MAKT5112 and that is why they the student cannot see this module in the portal – meaning that the missing module – MAKT5112 is not missing.
Step 3 - Check Qualification Report/MOR:
•ACBP5121 however was reported as missing and there are no results – this means we have to check the Qualification Report or MOR. You need to check the Qualification/MOR Report to ensure that the missing module is actually offered in 2023. Filter on 2023 Academic Term, your campus, and qualification and see if you can locate the module. If the module is present in the report but not in the registration portal this would mean that the module is indeed missing.
•If the module is on the MOR - then you SHOULD be seeing the module in the portal. An e.g. below from the MOR- 2022 and 2021 intake BM students will see ACBP5121 in their portal if the MOR displays as
·If the module you need is not on the MOR – then the student will not see the modules in the portal - it is likely that the request to add the missing module is not valid and should be queried with the campus or student.
·You might also receive requests that the module is present BUT in the wrong semester - again – you need to check the MOR Report. The module will always display in the semester in which it is offered (as per the MOR) - therefore if the module is in semester 1 in the MOR and your student needs it in semester 3/5 they will see it in their registration portal as a semester 1 module BUT when they register it will be allocated to the students’ semester 3/5.
Step 4 - Exclusions List:
·If you are still not able to determine why the module is missing -as a last resort - check the campus exclusion lists to see if the module was removed. If the module is on the list – it can be added back with the necessary approvals.
Step 5 – Check Class capacity:
·Increase the capacity or move student from the Default class to the Groups to create space.
Step 6 – Promotion:
·Check if the student has been promoted to the relevant semester.
Step 7 – Log:
·If the above still does not assist and the module is still missing – please escalate by logging a call.
